The part of Joe Dawson is temporarily being understudied
Joe is sitting on the small stage, his guitar in his lap and is working on a Blues song.
Colin enters the bar and sits in a corner table
Joe looks up from his playing when the door opens. He glances around for Mike but doesn't see him so he sets his guitar in its rack and gets up. He goes over to the table and smiles at his first customer of the day.
[Joe] Hello. Welcome to Joe's. What can I get for you?
Joe asks with a friendly smile.
[Colin] Whiskey. On the rocks please
[Joe] You got it.
Joe says and heads behind the bar. he pours the drink and carries it over to the man's table and sets it down.
[Joe] My name's Joe, by the way. It's still a bit early so just give me a holler if I can get you anything else.
[Colin] Thank you.
Joe says still smiling.
[Colin] No Problem Joe, and thanks
Aldria having been out shopping, sees what from the little she's knows of Seacouver, the Immortal's choice bar, and decided to stop for a drink. After getting out and locking the car, Aldria walks into the bar.
Colin takes a sip from his glass
Alyssa walks into the room and takes a seat at the bar
Aldria wanders over and grabs a seat at the bar, along with the other immortal sitting there
[Colin] So, this is Seacouver?
Alyssa takes out her mobile phone and flips it open having received at text message. She sighs. Her date is running late
Colin feels immortal presence
Joe looks at the young man and nods.
[Joe] Yep. I take it you're new to our fair city?
Joe heads over to the bar and sets a napkin in front of the lady who just sat down.
[Joe] What can I get for you young lady?
[Aldria] Afternoon
Aldria says to the bartender
[Colin] Yeah, you could say that.
[Aldria] what have you got on tap?
Joe looks at the his lady customer and furrows his brow. She seems familiar but he can't quite think of where he has seen her before. Then it dawns on him.
[Joe] We have domestic and an nice import.
Alyssa gets up and leaves as her phone rings. It's him, she just knows he's not coming.
Joe says in answer to her question.
[Aldria] where's the import from?
Aldria prays it's from New Zealand
Colin observes the other Immortal and bartender
[Joe] It's actually something new I'm trying out. It's from down under.
Joe smiles at her.
[Joe] Feel adventurous?
[Aldria] Absolutely!
[Aldria] What's it called?
Joe nods with a smile and walks over to the tap. He fills a frosted glass and brings it back and sets it on the napkin. He leans a bit closer.
[Joe] It's spelled T - u - i. I have no idea how it's pronounced.
Joe says grinning.
[Aldria] ahhh, you pronounce it "Too wee" I know exactly what this is. It's one of my favorites
Aldria takes a drink and smiles in pleasure.
[Joe] Aren't you Judge Everson?
Joe asks softly.
Aldria nods slowly.
[Aldria] Yes, I am.
[Aldria] why?
Joe smiles warmly.
[Joe] You looked familiar is all and I just wanted to make sure my memory was intact.
[Colin] There seem to be a lot of legal people here. I just ran into a lawyer before I came in
[Aldria] Really?
Aldria says turning to the other immortal.
[Colin] Yeah. There';s an Immortal who goes by the name of MacQueen, told me he was late for court. I accidentally bumped into him
Colin walks over to the bar and sits down at a stool
[Aldria] goes or went?
[Colin] That's his surname. I'm only in town to find someone, and I ran into him instead
Alyssa walks back into the room, depositing her phone in her pocket. “Out of sight, out of mind” she thinks sliding back onto the stool she had vacated minutes earlier
[Colin] he seemed like a nice guy
Joe walks up to the other young lady and places a bar napkin in front of her.
[Joe] What can get for you?
Joe asks with a smile.
[Alyssa] Scotch.. the best you've got. I need a drink.
Alyssa answers blowing a loose strand of hair out of her eyes
[Aldria] The way you say that
Aldria says turning to look at the other woman in the bar
[Aldria] can only mean guy problems.
Alyssa laughs. "Aren't they always"
Colin asks the bartender for another shot of whiskey
Aldria chuckles. "Won't totally disagree with you on that...but I can see these to Gentlemen maybe taking issue with it"
Aldria nods at Joe and Colin
Alyssa extends her hand to the woman sat next to her. "Alyssa De Valmont"
[Aldria] Aly Everson. Please to meet you.
Joe pours her her drink and sets it in front of her. Then he refills the young man's drink and sets it in front of him.
Alyssa thanks Joe and takes a sip of the amber liquid in front of her.
Colin takes a sip of whiskey
"You from around here?" Aldria asks Alyssa taking another swallow of her Tui.
"No. France originally. I was schooled mostly in England, hence the messed up accent" Alyssa says noticing that the man Aldria had been talking to was now busy gazing into a half empty glass of scotch. "Who's your friend?"
Aldria shrugs. "dunno." And turns to the other immortal. "HI, I'm Aly, and you are..?"
[Colin] Colin MacLeod, of the Clan MacLeod
[Aldria] That would mean you're from Scotland right, boy?
Colin answers the two women
[Colin] I guess so.
Alyssa almost spits her whiskey into her glass. MacLeod, everywhere she went she heard that name. "Nice.. which clan? Harris, Skye, Glenfinnan?" Alyssa asked
[Colin] And I'm no boy
Joe is in the middle of wiping out a glass and freezes, looking up at the young man.
[Aldria] Sure you are. You're male aren't ya?
[Colin] Glenfinnan, I helped set up the ancestral home
Aldria winks at the Scotsman
Colin gives Aldria a half stern look
"Cool. I've been there once when I was younger" Alyssa says drinking the last of her whiskey, a little quicker than she should
Aldria just laughs
[Colin] It hasn't changed much in a good long while
Aldria takes another swallow of her beer. Enjoying it. But then again, alcohol was, in her opinion, the foundation of every civilized country.
Mike rushes through the door and grabs a bar apron as he goes behind the bar.
[Mike] Sorry I'm late, boss.
Joe looks at Mike and nods a bit distracted. He hands Mike the towel he has been drying glasses with.
[Joe] No problem. Take care of things out here, Mike. I've got something to take care of in my office.
[Aldria] Glenfinnan, isn't that up by the shores of ummm..well, shot, I forget the name of the lake..
Joe says and turns around and heads for his office.
[Colin] Loch Shiel
"Sounds like you miss it" Alyssa says "I know how that feels" Lightly tapping her glass Alyssa vies for the barman's attention to get a refill.
Mike looks after Joe a bit puzzled, shrugs and walks down the bar, checking everyone's glasses to see who needs refills.
[Aldria] ahhh, thats it!
[Colin] I sometimes visit every so often
Aldria smiles. “I was there once. A long time ago.”
Joe goes into his office and starts to shut the door but stops with it open a few inches. He looks back out at the young man at the bar, furrows his brow and then closes the door. He goes behind his desk, sits down and turns on his computer.
[Colin] How long?
Colin wonders
[Aldria] How long ago?
[Colin] Yes
[Aldria] Let's just leave it at a very, very long time ago, shall we?
Aldria thinks to herself, since it was nigh on 1500 years ago.
Colin laughs
[Colin] I can relate
Alyssa isn't understanding where the conversation is going and so her thoughts go back to the person she was meant to meet her.
[Aldria] oh no wait! Is was longer ago than that!! My bad!))
[Colin] I'm here to, I guess...find a kinsman
[Aldria] The only MacLeod around here I know, goes by the name of Duncan. and the only reason I know him, is because I put him behind bars.
[Colin] That so?
Alyssa is pulled back from her thoughts at the mention of the name Duncan MacLeod. "You know Duncan MacLeod?"
Colin asks the bartender for one last shot of whiskey
[Aldria] Yeah. As I said, I put him in jail. I was judge at the trial.
[Colin] What was his offense?
[Aldria] He's out now. Turned out all the evidence was planted on him and he wasn't the killer.
Alyssa laughs "A friend of mine told me about him once, if it's the same person"
[Aldria] murder, the offense
[Colin] I see.
[Aldria] He's a good man from what I know of him.
[Aldria] And as I said, he was framed.
Colin looks at Alyssa, “who's your friend?” He asks.
"A priest by the name of Darius" Alyssa says letting out the lightest laugh at the memory of that conversation
Colin nods
Aldria looks sharply at Alyssa "Darius? The Priest from Paris?"
"You know Darius?" Alyssa asks shocked by it. "He's the one who sent me here"
[Aldria] Vaguely. More so by reputation.
[Colin] I just know him as "the Priest"
[Aldria] I sort of knew him, before he became a priest.
"Doesn't surprise me. He seems to have friends all over the world" Alyssa says "He's that kind of person, you know." She thinks for a minute
"You did? Now that I would have liked to have seen" Alyssa says to Aldria
[Colin] I haven't met him yet
[Aldria] Let's just say he was a bit...different back then, then he is now.
Alyssa laughs. "Again, not surprised. He talks a lot, but he doesn't give much away. Know what I mean?"
Joe lets out a quiet whistle and sits back in his chair staring at his monitor.
[Aldria] I think I can guess
[Colin] I had a friend, Andreas. He spoke of Darius highly
Alyssa smiles. It was nice hearing how her friends reputation proceeded him. To her he was special but it was nice to know others felt that way too
[Colin] Maybe someday I'll get to meet him
"You should. If you ever come to Paris..." Alyssa thinks for a moment "Or if I ever get him out of that church of his"
Aldria shrugged "Personally I think he was more interesting BEFORE he became a priest, but" *shrug* "ah, well.
"Maybe you could enlighten me. I'd love to know what he was like before" Alyssa says only half joking
[Aldria] He was... more aggressive than he is now.
[Colin] What was he before he became a monk?
"Wow..that's really... hard to believe. He's so serene now" Alyssa says wondering what must have happened to change all of that.
Joe shuts off his monitor and rubs his hand over his face.
Mike refills Colin's drink for him.
[Mike] Anyone else need a refill?
[Aldria] Don't tell me you're done for the day, boy?" Aldria asked watching Colin hand the glass over.
Mike asks everyone collectively.
[Aldria] Yeah, I do. Tui, please
Mike refills Aldria's glass.
Colin looks at the refilled glass
Joe gets up and walks over to the window and looks out at the alley.
[Colin] Well, I was finished but one more won't hurt me
[Aldria] A few more won't hurt you if you're a true Scotsman!
[Joe] What is this guy's game? Is it possible that he is who he says he is?
Joe says aloud to his empty office.
Alyssa finishes her drink. "I'm afraid that that's me" Alyssa says as she places down her empty glass.
[Joe] No.....there's absolutely nothing in the database on a Colin MacLeod.
[Aldria] You sure? I'll answer some more questions for you 'bout Darius if you have them? And...if I can.
[Colin] I try not to get drunk, it impairs the senses
Joe shakes his head. After a couple of seconds he walks back over to his desk and sits back down. He lays his hand on the receiver of the phone on his desk as he debates whether or not he should make the call he is tempted to make.
[Aldria] As I said, a few more won't hurt you if your a true Scotsman, boy.
[Colin] My point exactly, the Irish are the heavy drinkers, not the Scots
[Aldria] Yeah, and if you were Irish, I would have said "several more" or "a lot more" instead of a "few more"
